New BGG officers; Search for Executive Director

At the October 27, 2006 meeting of the California Board for Geologists and Geophysicists (BGG), held in Santa Ana, three new board members joined in and an officer's election resulted in Bill Black as President, and Rick Blake as Vice President.

Later, after about a two-hour closed session and that waived earlier public input, Mr. Black stated that the Board decided to "terminate without cause" the existing BGG Executive Officer, Paul Sweeney, PE. A search for a new executive officer is underway.
